Tips on Finding Support for Your Writing

  • Books on writing can inspire and motivate you; see the list above for some recommendations. If your book budget is limited, check your local library.

  • Take a writing class. One often overlooked option: your local community education program. In the Twin Cities, community ed classes are typically held on weekday evenings in local high schools.

  • Join a writers’ group. One of the easiest ways to join a group is to take a writing class and form one with other students. Otherwise, look for flyers at libraries, coffee shops, gyms, and community centers. You can also try online (Facebook, Goodreads, etc.). If you don’t find a writers’ group that fits, start one yourself. If you’re in the Twin Cities, check out the Loft’s free Community Postings for writers’ groups that are looking for new members.

What Beth’s Clients Say

Beth Wright Books White Bucklin-5.jpg

“I worked with Beth Wright on a developmental edit of a mostly completed manuscript and as a project manager to self-publish the same book. She was able to articulate some missing pieces of my manuscript that improved the story line a great deal and improved the overall quality of the book. Publishing a book is an enormous project, and Beth was kind, patient, thorough, knowledgeable, responsive, and responsible; I give her my highest endorsement.”

—Linda “Moonrabbit” Zlotnick, author of Star Sisters: An Astrologer’s Memoir of Twin Loss
